Allergy Remedies - Giving it the Natural One-Two Punch

Like millions of people, I suffer from seasonal allergies. In the past I have taken many over the counter antihistamines and decongestants only to find that the side effects of these drugs made me feel worse than my original allergy symptoms. Wishing to avoid the negative side effects of dry mouth and drowsiness, etc. I searched for a natural solution.

The first thing I tried was raw local honey. This seemed to have little effect on my allergies, but it sure tasted good.

The next step was natural supplements. I went through a whole myriad of vitamins, green extracts, special drinks, and so on, till I happened upon a person in a health food store that recommended I try nettle leaf for seasonal allergies. I had never heard of nettle leaf and I was a little skeptical at this point that anything natural would help alleviate my seasonal allergies. A few weeks later though, watery eyed with allergy symptoms, I found myself purchasing a bottle of nettle leaf pills. After a few days of taking the pills I noticed an improvement in my allergies. I still had some symptoms on the heavier pollen days, but they were very reduced. Aha! I had finally found a good natural remedy for my seasonal allergy symptoms.

I later found out how to combine nettle leaf pills with food enzyme pills for an extra added benefit, giving it the proverbial one-two punch. Dosage is also important for maximum effect. I weigh approximately 150 lb.'s, so I take two nettle leaf pills and two enzyme pills on an empty stomach in the morning. This eliminates almost all of my allergy symptoms for most of the day. I will take another single dose of nettle and enzyme in the evening on heavier pollen days if I feel I need it.

Why are these nutritional supplements so helpful for allergy symptoms? It is because they are natural anti-inflammatories. This, of course, helps diminish the inflammatory affect of allergens. They also have many other useful side effects. For instance: Nettle leaf fights prostate inflammation and also helps with hair growth and fingernail strength. Food enzymes have been shown to be helpful with many inflammatory conditions including arthritis, sports injuries and general muscle aches and pains.

So the next time you are hit with seasonal allergies give it a one-two punch with a nettle leaf/food enzyme combo and get the extra benefits these supplements offer.
